6 Months to season 6 of 24!!!!!

Even without Tony, surely Jack escaping all of the Chinese should be worth watching...

Tuesday, February 28, 2006

TONY.

Is back. Next week. OH MY FUCKING GOD.

It's about FUCKING time.

That's all I really have to say, except:

TONY!!!!!
Amen. Amen to that.

Except it's going to be all angsty and guilt-ridden and horribly sad to watch as he finds out about Michelle!

Jeez, now I REALLY want to work on my angsty s4 fanfic I started last night, but I also want to read and get to bed at a decent time. I suppose I could just limit my time...but I tend to get on a roll. And I'd get so much adrenaline going I'd never get to sleep...what's a girl to do?

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

So, who is the mysterious person behind the bed?

Scuttlebutt on the 24 boards seems to say Mandy, Nina, or Sherry. Or Kim.

Obviously, Sherry and Nina are dead. I think even 24 would hesitate to bring them back. Mandy I can see, although from the brief shot I saw: Mandy would never wear her hair like that. AND at first glance I thought it was a guy...only the sworn testimony of dozens of other fanatics made me consider the person could be female.

As for Kim...I really don't think she'd dye her hair.

On another note, though, I just wanted to say GREAT JOB to the writers and directors of this episode. So far this season, I've felt it was alittle slow...it didn't have the adrenaline pumping drive of the previous four. Now, however, I am COMPLETELY on the edge of my seat for next week! I can't wait.

And, of course, I REALLY can't wait for Tony to wake up ;)

Started rewatching s2 tonight. Mainly so I can pick out all the hot things Tony and Jack do. Am I sad or what? Eh, whatever. I need the inspiration for "Understanding."

Thursday, January 26, 2006

Kim

I think they’re really cute together, those two. Okay, I’ll admit that I was a little disappointed when I figured out Tony was off the market. So was every other woman on the planet. But really, he and Michelle are so good together…they just click. It’s practically tangible.

Not to mention how adorable it is that they think no one knows about them! Really, you should see it. Michelle’s constantly glancing up at his office, and he finds excuses just as often to come down and see her- every twenty minutes or so. It’s always stuff he could have just told her on the phone, too, like to get some paperwork up to him as soon as possible, or some new protocol to get started on.

But hey, at least they’re getting lots of cardio in, running up and down the stairs a million times a day. Not that either of them needs it.

The secrecy is kinda frustrating sometimes, though. Like when…okay, my station is pretty close to Michelle’s, right? So this one time Tony came down to see her and perched on the edge of her desk, like he does a lot, and he was right in front of me. He started telling her some useless stuff (but with this adorable gentle look on his face that is so NOT Tony it’s hilarious) and when he was done he stopped and kind of looked at me for a second. Then he just sat there.

I could tell he wanted to say something personal to her, but couldn’t think of a way to get rid of me. I could hear everything they were saying because, you know, I was right there. So they just sat there, gazing at each other with longing but trying to be all covert about it, until finally Tony gave a little sigh and started to leave.

But who am I to stand in the way of true love? I got up and went over on a useless errand to Chloe’s office.

Chloe

Everyone in this stupid office things Tony and Michelle are so cute together. Personally, I find the whole thing a nuisance. They’re not even supposed to be dating, either…it’s “frowned upon.” There used to be an actual rule about inter-office relationships, but it got changed right after I was hired- right after the bomb.

Gee, I wonder whose idea that was.

Being the easygoing person I am, however, I was willing to look the other way- along with everyone else- until Kim started bothering me.

“Hey Chloe,” she said all casual-like. I was immediately suspicious.

“What do you want, Kim? I just upgraded those systems for you. Have you finished your dailies yet?” I swear, I have to do everything around here.

“Actually I just came up to give Tony and Michelle a minute alone. I hope you don’t mind- and I am done with the dailies, actually.”

I glared at her. “So you’re wasting my time to help two other people waste their time? That’s it.” I jumped up and headed past her to the door. “I’m tired of this whole thing. I’m going to Chappelle and telling him that Tony and Michelle are causing disturbances at work…”

For a kid, Kim sure can move fast. She was blocking my exit before I even got there…I guess you can’t live with Jack Bauer for 18 years without something useful rubbing off- although for the most part the girl is hopeless. “Wait, Chloe, you can’t,” she said.

“Get out of my way, Kim.”

“No! Come on Chloe,” she wheedled. “Don’t you think it’s the least little bit romantic?” I just looked at her. “Ok, then,” she said switching tactics, “it’s not a problem, I promise. You know as well as I do it’s not like we’re busy today, and they work too well together and with the rest of us.”

“I hate secrets, Kim. I really hate keeping secrets from my superiors.”

“You don’t have to,” she was quick to exclaim. “If someone asks you, flat out, ‘are Tony and Michelle madly in love with each other?’ then by all means, say yes! I’m just asking you not to go out of your way to make it an issue. Besides,” she added, “I know my dad would be mad if he found out you ratted them out. He really likes both of them.”

I glared harder. Maybe Kim was smarter than I’d given her credit for. “As long as you’re here, take these reports down to Adam. He’ll need them for his <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Valencia assessment.”

Adam

“Hey, Kim, what’s up with Tony? He’s been down talking to Michelle for like fifteen minutes now.”

Kim gave me a Look, which I resented. I mean, who is she to be giving me Looks? She only got this job because her dad is hot-shot field op. Some of us had to work our way here. If anyone should be giving anyone Looks, it’s me.

“Adam,” she replied, “You’re constantly reminding everyone how much smarter you are than them; what do you think is up with Tony?” She turned back to her computer and I looked over at Agents Almeida and Dessler again.

Oh my God. Were they…?

“Are they…involved?” I asked, shocked.

“Shhh!” Kim said. “They don’t know that we know.”

“How long has this been going on?”

She shrugged. “A couple months, I guess. At least as long as I’ve been working here.”

I forced my mouth shut and stared blankly at my screen. “Is it serious?”

That one earned me another Look. “Adam, how dense can you be? Look at them! They’re in love!”

“How can you tell?”

“How can you not see it?”

Chase

If I’d known what they were talking about, I would have waited instead of jumping in like that. Things are awkward enough around Kim without deliberating entering into a discussion about workplace romances. It’s like swearing off beer for Lent and then sitting around watching your buddies drink. Torture. But I didn’t know, so in I went, like a fool.

“That Michelle and Tony are in love with each other,” Kim answered.

Awkward!! “Oh…” I said uncomfortably. “Um…that’s nice.”

“Don’t tell me you didn’t know, either!” She exclaimed in disbelief.

I quickly shook my head. “Oh, no, I knew. Everybody knows. It’s obvious.”

“I didn’t know,” Adam interjected. We ignored him, lost in each other’s eyes. At least, I was lost in Kim’s eyes. Maybe she was just looking at something on my face.

She broke my gaze and looked over where Almeida and Michelle were sitting, heads together, and grinning like idiots. I take that back- Almeida was grinning like an idiot, comparatively speaking, because he never smiles. Michelle just looked happy. “I wonder how they do it,” Kim mused.

My eyes widened and my heart started thumping against my rib cage. “How they do what?”

“Balance work against their personal relationship, of course.” She glanced at me with an unreadable expression that I suddenly, desperately needed to decipher. “I mean, it’s gotta be awkward, seeing someone you love every day at the office and not being able to show it.”

“Yeah, well, they’re not succeeding very well, are they?” I decided to play it cool. “Since we’re standing around talking about them.”

“God, is nobody in this building the least bit romantic?” Kim demanded with a sigh.

I fled to the safety of Jack’s office. No way was I answering that.

Jack

Chase looked a little desperate when he entered my office. I’d seen him down in the bullpen talking to my daughter, so I wasn’t surprised. Kim has a way of doing that- creating desperation in people.

“What’s up, Chase?” I asked, wanting to get to the point and get on with my work. I hate paperwork, but it seems like that’s all I’ve been doing lately, since I got out of the hospital. What was the point of fixing my heart, I sometimes wondered, if I was just doomed to drown in paperwork anyway?

“Nothing, really, I just…” the kid hesitated for a second before going on, “I was just wondering what the official stance is on inter-office dating.”

At that I actually looked up from the form I was filling out. “Do you have someone in mind?” Please don’t say Kim, I thought desperately. See, there it was again: desperation with regards to my daughter.

“Oh, no, no, not me,” Chase said quickly. Too quickly. I was immediately suspicious. “At least, not at the moment. We were just talking about Agents Almeida and Dessler—“

“Call them by their first names, Chase, you don’t work for them. You work for me.”

“All right, we were just talking about Tony and Michelle, and I started wondering if there was an actual rule about stuff like that, or not.”

Dumb kid. He should’ve known better than to lie to my face like that. But I figured if I really needed to know, he’d tell me in his own good time, so I let it go. “There’s no technical policy on the books about it. As long as it doesn’t interfere with productivity, no one’ll bother them. What’s with everyone’s sudden interest in Tony and Michelle’s personal lives, anyway?”

He shrugged. “Just general nosiness, I think. And, you know, speculation about how long it’ll last…and whether it’s a good idea or not.”

“Why wouldn’t it be a good idea?”

Chase raised one eyebrow slightly. “C’mon, Jack. We all know about Nina. And we all know that doing this job and having outside relationships is tough. I’m just wondering if maybe somebody shouldn’t remind Tony of that.”

I leaned back in my chair and fought the urge to rub my face. “Look, Chase. Tony’s the closest thing I have to a friend. He sticks up for me when Division’s riding my ass but he’s not afraid to tell me when he thinks I’m being an idiot. Since he’s been with Michelle, he’s been happier than I’ve ever seen him- he actually behaves like a human being instead of a government robot like some of us. I know what that feels like, Chase, and I know what it’s like to lose it. So the last thing I or anyone else needs to be doing is planting second thoughts in either of their heads. Not,” I punctuated with a glare, “that it’s any of our business, anyway. Got it?”

Chase nodded and then asked, in all seriousness, “So, then, how do you feel about me taking bets on when they get engaged?”

I couldn’t believe it. For a rookie, the kid had guts, I had to give him that. “Put me down for next Saturday night.”

“That’s not even two weeks from now!”

“Like I said, I know Tony pretty well.”

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

OMG! Good episode tonight. Very good, although it started offa little slow. I can see what they meant by "more consequences oriented this season." They're not so concerned about the Nerve Gas as they are the possibility of a high-placed mole or traitor at the White House.

This would be a lot more interesting if Palmer were still president, but whatever. Logan is SUCH a weasel! I like his wife, though. Too bad no one believes her.

And TONY was on tonight! I mean, he was just lying there on a bed, but still! TONY!

TONY!

Anyway, my predictions for the future (it should be fun to read back later and see what I got right and what I screwed up!):

-Novick saves Jack's life. The preview showed them taking Jack into custody on the president's orders...but maybe this is before Logan learns about Walt? The editing made it seem like it was after, but it could well be before. Either way, I think Novick will do something to save Jack, at least temporarily, sort of in memory of David Palmer. God, I miss that guy.

-Not really a prediction, but something I think would be cool....if, towards the very end, Jack and Tony find the people who framed him, and thereby killed Michelle, and they're the only two there? If Jack sort of "looked the other way" while Tony killed whoever was responsible...that would be awesome. Unfortunately for us, I think this may be Tony's last season. Unless he decides to go back to work, since he no longer has to give it up for Michelle. Hmm....

-Logan does something asinine. OK, that's a pretty safe bet...

-That chick who escorted Jack back to CTU comes back to be more important. Come on, they don't just let one episode characters have actual conversations like that!

-Jack and Audrey get back together. I never thought I'd say it, but...I hope so! I'm actually kind of liking her this season. and I hope they bring Heller back, too.

Over and Out!

Monday, January 23, 2006

OK. Just finished s4....totally wonderful, of course. The second to last episode was my favorite, largely because it focuses so much on Tochelle. That and, well, the whole thing where Tony's shirt is off is just hot.

ANYway. It gave me some really good ideas to use in "Understanding," so I think I'll jot a few of them down here before I go to bed. I'd love to write the next chapter tonight, but hey, gotta save some fun for tomorrow after episode 5 of s5, right?

-Something about Michelle pushing Buchanan away. I really don't like that guy, but whatever.

-Explanation for Jen? "After you left, my life fell apart...Jen happened to be there." I'd like to have Tony just using her for a place to live and whatnot, but that seems really cold...and sort of like he's whoring himself out for a house.

-IDEA: Michelle only left to try to shock him out of it. She thought he'd come after her, but he didn't, and her pride wouldn't let her go back. Must pre-establish pride on both their parts for this to work...perhaps give Michelle history of threatening actions to get Tony to do something? Not too much.

-IDEA: Michelle couldn't understand him, really, until she'd felt what he felt...Chappelle told Tony to consider her "already dead" in s3, so when he found out she was back, he was willing to do Saunders' bidding. Juxtapose with M thinking T died in the car bomb, and being so horrified...and so relieved he's really alive. I think before that she wouldn't have helped Jack escape, either.

-M throws herself in to work when she's upset. T has no job, so what does he do? Drinks it away. After M leaves, people at bar tell him he should move on, so he does, to Jen- have their relationship be shorter than avg. fics.

-He feels guilty for ruining her life, so he lets her go...honestly thinks she's better off without him. Feels guilty because she's ostracised at work and everywhere b/c he went to prison.

-Segment re: why prison was so hard for him (besides the obvious). He was in there with people he'd spent his entire life trying to put there...criminals and real traitors of the worst sort. Totally demeaning to be put among them because he tried to save his wife's life.

God, now I can't wait to go WRITE! :) No, no, must go to bed...have classes tomorrow. :(

Sunday, January 22, 2006

I was utterly thrilled when we watched the last disc of season 9 of FRIENDS tonight: The girl playing "Charlie," Aisha Tyler, was the same person who played Marianne in s4 of 24!!!

Wow, I am a geek.

Sunday, January 22, 2006

These are from this site: http://www.notrly.com/jackbauer/index.php?topthirty
(The numbers are votes and ratings)

Every time you maturbate Jack Bauer kills a terrorist. Not beacuase you masurbated, but because that is how often he kills terrorists.

60

8.48

Jack Bauer once told God he needed access, the event has since been referred to as "The Big Bang."

110

8.02

The real reason Jack Bauer was fired from CTU was his massive cell phone bill.

55

7.65

After Pope John Paul II died, God asked Jack Bauer to succeed him. He said no.

61

7.41

If you wake up in the morning, it's because Jack Bauer spared your life.

962

7.25

When Jack Bauer says he sees dead people, he's serious because he killed them all.

38

7.24

If Jack Bauer was in a room with Hitler, Stalin, and Nina Meyers, and he had a gun with 2 bullets, he'd shoot Nina twice.

1179

7.17

Upon hearing that he was played by Kiefer Sutherland, Jack Bauer killed Sutherland. Jack Bauer gets played by no man.

927

7.12

The quickest way to a man's heart is through Jack Bauer's gun.

23

7.09

Jack Bauer killed 93 people in just 4 days time. Wait, that is a real fact.

1105

6.95

Jack Bauer once forgot where he put his keys. He then spent the next half-hour torturing himself until he gave up the location of the keys.

1186

6.91

Jack Bauer was never addicted to heroin. Heroin was addicted to Jack Bauer.

1126

6.9

Jack Bauer's favorite color is severe terror alert red. His second favorite color is violet, but just because it sounds like violent.

906

6.89

Jack Bauer got Hellen Keller to talk.

557

6.83

1.6 billion Chinese are angry with Jack Bauer. Sounds like a fair fight.

844

6.81

Superman wears Jack Bauer pajamas.

324

6.74

Jack Bauer doesn't miss. If he didn't hit you it's because he was shooting at another terrorist twelve miles away.

1007

6.71

There are only 2 types of people in the world: • Those who will do anything for Jack...and eventually die as a result. • Those who are secretly plotting to betray Jack, and who will eventually die as a result.

25

6.68

Jack Bauer is in the dictionary, under 'pain.' Oh yeah, and 'busy motherfucker' too.

42

6.67

Jack Bauer gives advice to Dr. Phil.

184

6.61

Lets get one thing straight, the only reason you are conscious right now is because Jack Bauer does not feel like carrying you.

533

6.6

If Jack says "I just want to talk to him/her" and that him/her is you... well amigo, you're fucked.

871

6.58

Killing Jack Bauer doesn't make him dead. It just makes him angry.

651

6.58

When you open a can of whoop-ass, Jack Bauer jumps out.

1298

6.58

When life gave Jack Bauer lemons, he used them to kill terrorists. Jack Bauer fucking hates lemonade.

1144

6.52

In grade school, a little boy punched Kimberly Bauer, and Kimberly ran home to tell her dad. That little boy's name? Stephen Hawking.

166

6.43

Jack Bauer does not sleep. The only rest he needs is what he gets when he's knocked out or temporarily killed.

1033

6.42

Jack Bauer's family threw him a surprise birthday party when he was a child. Once.

904

6.42

Jack Bauer literally died for his country, and lived to tell about it.

1129

6.41

As a child, Jack Bauer's first words were "There's no time!"

Saturday, January 21, 2006

So, I needed a place to vent all my feelings about 24. I'm currently re-watching season 4, so for awhile it'll be about that. Hopefully, I'll be able to post an analysis after each episode of season 5...similar to AIG.com's "debriefings." That site, by the way, should be cited as the inspiration for this one...unfortunately, I can't afford my own domain, so I'll just have to mooch off of Xanga.

Yeah, who'm I kidding, like anyone's gonna read this!
